Michigan’s current economic climate is forcing people to be more independent and entrepreneurial in their efforts to earn money. The Michigan Home Business Association (M.H.B.A.) encourages, trains and supports individuals in their efforts to creatively generate alternate sources of income. We are a diverse group of people – bankers, lawyers, sales and marketing experts, stay-at-home mothers, blue-collar workers and independent types who have one thing in common. We want to control our own financial realities and we want to do it from home.
M.H.B.A interviewed a man who recently retired from General Motors after 32 years. We were more than surprised when he reported that at this point in his life, he must “take a retail position in order to make ends meet.” Another gentleman, who has spent the past 30 years on a Ford assembly line, is in the same situation. He says, “There’s is something very, very wrong with this scenario.”
And how about the stay-at-home moms? The heroic women who sacrifice their own wants and needs for those of their children. How are they rewarded? We met a stay-at-home mother who found herself in the job market after 17 years with “no work experience” to put on her résumé. When we spoke with this woman she was deciding whether to take a job stocking shelves at the local supermarket or being a cashier at the local dollar store.
Can this still be the land of opportunity?
M.H.B.A says, “ABSOLUTELY!”
We are helping these and other people develop skills and use their creativity to startup new home businesses. They are buying and selling products on eBay and other commerce websites. They are doing network marketing, creating products and generating excitement about their businesses through local print media sources and web pages. This is just the beginning of the home business buzz.
“We expect a revolution equal to or greater than the tech stock boom of the early 2000s to take place in the home business sector!”
The M.H.B.A. mission is to empower people of Michigan to take control of their financial destiny, regardless of their current economical status or educational background.
Our goal is to inform Michigan residents of the ways and means to create multiple streams of income for themselves and their families.
